The Basting Bar offers a new concept of basting when you're limited by space, table size, or unable to get down on the floor. The method is to start pinning in the true center of the quilt and focus on one row at a time, then slide the quilt ahead 6" for each new row. The Basting Bar defines each row on a true horizontal axis. The 3 Pin Nuts secure the layers together at the center and sides so it remains aligned throughout the pinning process and the edges are equal distance and pulled taut to remove wrinkles. The cut-outs in the wood make it easy for the pins to go down and back up through all layers without catching or scratching the surface beneath and the pins will close easily. Your table can be shorter than the Basting Bar and still support your quilt.
