My
love of sewing has given me personal experience with many
of the problems encountered when sewing and quilting. Though
I usually sew on my large machine with the advantage of a
large work table, I also use my portable machines for other
applications and for decorative stitching. This led me to
search for an extension table, only to find that those available
were all custom made to fit one specific machine. I couldn't
justify buying tables for all of them. I asked my husband,
a design engineer, if there wasn't some way to make a table
that would fit all of my machines. In less time than it would
have taken me to order a custom table, I had the first Greer
M.A.T.E. 24. After showing it to friends who sew, we realized
that others could benefit from our new design. Thus the M.A.T.E.
24 went into production, along with the M.A.T.E. 16.
